Poached Live Prawns With Superior Herbs: The prawns were succulent and the soup was tasty, which Rika enjoyed especially. Someday I would like to cook this, I recognized the herbs used in this dish.

The herbs used were Ginseng roots, Astragalus [Huang Chi 黃耆], Angelica Sinensis [dang gui 當歸/ 当归] and wolfberries [gou ji zi 枸杞子] and Hemlock Parsley / Ligusticum [chuan xiong 川芎]. They are photos of these herbs here: Food And Herbs I did not know the uses of Hemlock Parsley / Ligusticum until I read it on this website!

Excerpt: This herb, Hemlock Parsley / Ligusticum [chuan xiong 川芎], is said to be good for: Promoting the circulation of blood and vital energy; expel wind and alleviate pain; lower blood pressure. Used for abdominal pain after childbirth, menstrual disorders, chest pain, recurrent headache, and rheumatism. [Please remember; always seek advice from a doctor if you have a medical condition.]
